Project Objectives
- Evaluate the current handling and marketing practices for chilled shrimp from time of harvest until it reaches the market;
- Evaluate handling practices in a processing plant, the freezing facilities and their effects to the quality of shrimps;
- Analyze the competitiveness of the two shrimp species in the context of cost inputs and expenditures and correlate the qualitative results with the quality of the products;
- Compare the existing commercial culture practices with that of the organic culture system both for P. monodon and P. vannamei.
